Licensing Information
It is easy to become licensed to offer home improvement financing to your customers. The State of Florida, per Chapter 520 Part IV of the Florida Statutes, requires any businesses involved in financing home improvements secured by a mortgage or lien on real property obtain a Home Improvement Retail Installment Seller license.
The license is required for contractors who repair, remodel or add improvement to a single family residence pursuant to a written agreement when a mortgage lien on the property is retained as security.
Initial Application Fee: $175
Licensing is done through the State of Florida Office of Financial Regulation.
